Big White Ski Club (BWSC) was one of FIVE ski clubs participating on Saturday, February 12th and 13th at Apex Mountain Resort for the Okanagan Zone Tech Slalom Race.  The athletes had 2 beautiful bluebird days and great hard-packed race-snow conditions. BWSC brought 31 athletes to compete at the race.

The U12 athletes ran 2 separate slalom races each day. Saturday, the ladies group saw Alexandra Walker taking GOLD and BRONZE with Lily Edstrom holding 6th place in both runs. Ella Thomas also made the top ten in the first run with an 8th place result. For the men, Ken Ferenci placed 8th in the first run, then in the second run, brother Michael Ferenci placed 9th with Cameron Roworth landing 10th.

The Sunday U12 results had more top ten placements for the ladies with Alexandra Walker 4th in the first run Ella Thomas 8th and Marin Oberlander 10th. In the second run, Alexandra Walker placed 6th with Lily Edstrom 8th, Ella Thomas 9th, and Marin Oberlander held onto her 10th place ranking.

For the U14 category, it was a 2 run combined race each day. Mikalah Taylor had SILVER place finishes on BOTH Saturday and Sunday and Alivia Haddad had a 5th place finish on the Sunday in the ladies group. In the men’s group, Hunter Kay took a 6th place finish on Saturday. On Sunday, Keir Phillips took over 6th place finish with Oliver Yanow cracking the top 10 landing in tenth.
